The KJC Discord possum minyan has been discussing what makes a hanukkiah (not) kosher.
(An artist who researched the topic for illustration purposes a while back: "[The lights] can't be in a circle because the candles should all be visible with no visual overlap when viewed straight on. I think a slight semicircle is okay but my understanding was it has to be a straight line and any height difference has to be gradual and differentiable from the shamash.")
